I came in once when it was busy and she was burning someone's sad which. Instead of putting it out like an adult she screamed for the managers help. Second time I came in... Two of the employees walked away and the third did not greet me for over 60 awkward seconds of standing there... She made jokes and laughed at her coworkers instead of putting on gloves. I will not be returning and I can guarantee that others won't either if this conduct continues. I don't know her name but she should be fully retrained 1:52 on 6/05

Just moved here and was looking for a local pizza place to deliver us some food, came along this place and the pizza was great! They even brought us paper plates and napkins since we hadn't unpacked anything. Great service, friendly staff and we will def be back for more in the near future.

You know what? This place is pretty good. I remember liking it when I lived out here as a kid and now that I've been back, I still like it. It's not gourmet pizza or anything; it's just good. And besides that, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a large group of people - family after spreading my grandfather's ashes over the river (no, you don't need to know that and I don't mean to bring this review down, but it helps to know that we weren't in the most joyous of moods to start with). My family can be a lot to handle at a restaurant - just like your family, probably. It takes a long time to make a decision, the process is confusing to everyone (us and staff alike) and we just get in the way. The staff was so accommodating and friendly with us that I can't help but give them five stars. It wasn't a "there's a big party that's going to spend a lot of money" friendly, it was a "they're people just like us and they deserve it" friendly. You know, genuine. Aside from the service, the food was as good as I remember. Again, not gourmet, but really good for your standard small town pizza place. I'll be happy to go back the next time I'm in St. Helens for any reason.

Decent service makes up for a lot here. I see more than a couple of reviews based upon xyz, the pizza is anything but fresh, the sauce is canned which isn't so much a slam pretty much the norm, but it's not a good can. The service made the experience enjoyable. And if you're in a pinch for pizza the place isn't terrible. So don't be afraid just be informed.

Only place around to offer a salad bar, which is a must have for me. Pizza is good and service is prompt. It's an "Order at the Counter" kind of place, but staff are attentive in bringing extra plates, filling waters, etc. They offer a full menu of other Italian dishes and American food.. Good local place that has been solid for years!

Been living in saint Helens since 84 and have moved away for 10 years but every time I come back I always go here. Never have found a better pizza place in ten years since I moved.

First off to all of you giving this place less than 5 stars, you are idiots. I know my pizza and theirs is fantastic, you can get a thicker hand tossed or a cracker type crust, I, personally like the thinner crust. They do not use canned sauce, they make everything from scratch except the Pepperoni for their Pizza's and I believe it. We stopped in for the first time today as my brother is buying a home in the area. I ordered the Reuben Sandwich, Tomato Soup and hubby ordered a pizza. Before we even sat down there were fresh garlic and cinnamon breadsticks on the table. They were freaking delicious. My soup was very flavorful and tasty and my sandwich was huge and full of meat, I was very pleased. I had a piece of the thin crust pizza and it is better than Pietro's (my current favorite). The people working there (the owner works right alongside his employees) were so nice, we actually got better Waitress attention and service than I have had in some fancy pants restaurants downtown. What Pizza place in existence do you have a Waitress serve you and get you refills of pop and bring and package your leftovers, and and and and and and bring you fresh homemade breadsticks multiple times throughout your visit. Let me tell you, NOWHERE. I wish I lived closer I would eat here ALOT. They also serve breakfast, some pasta dishes, and even Mexican dishes. They have a great salad bar with all sorts of tasty things to eat. If you are bitching about the price of pizza, you better stay with some crappy chain such as Pizza Hut or Papa Murphy;s because this is the real deal. Pizza at a sit down Restaurant is expensive these days, at least here you get what you pay for. Cheryl approved, I can't wait to go back!

Absolutely LOVE their salad bar. It's so good & has quite a bit of variety. I ordered a pizza for the first time ever a couple weeks back which was OK but not nearly as good as others I've had in town. The crust was soggy & could barely hold up the ingredients. I do however always enjoy their breadsticks!

I grew up in St. Helens many years ago and I remembered the pizza being fantastic (now to a 9 year old, most pizza is fantastic). However, recently moving back to the area 17 years later as an adult, I can say I still love this place just as much. They have quality ingredients and don't skimp out on their toppings. They are reasonably priced and deliver. It's a small town pizza place (with a large chain pizza joint in town), and I never order from anywhere else. I would definitely recommend them.

The thin crust pizzas taste like frozen pizza and the family size pizza is 30 bucks deffenitly not worth it

Pizza was pretty good. Salad bar had quite a few options. Service was excellent, much more than most pizzerias offer. Good family atmosphere. And prices aren't bad either. Overall a good experience and since we live close by we will definitely be going again. ;-)

Ordered a large pizza from here and it was aweful. Crust was hard as a rock it was frozen pizza dough then left out to defrost. The topping was not at all fresh. For over $25 I would have expected a half way decent pizza. Never will order from them again. One thing I can say for the business is friendly staff and plenty seating

After being very displeased with the quality of food at the salad bar I returned it to opt for something else off the menu. I explained to the girl at the counter why I was returning it. The spinach had lots of rotten leaves mixed in with the good, the pasta salad dressing was slimy, the mixed lettuce was brown. For me the clincher was the mold on the little pieces of ham. I then ordered a Reuben sandwich. The sandwich was mediocre and after a couple of bites into it the bread was a liquid soggy mess. As I was leaving I looked at the salad bar and saw the same slimy spinach so thought that I might talk to the manager. He denied anything being wrong with the quality of the food until I took him over and showed him the slimy spinach which he said he overlooked. When I brought up the mold on the ham he denied that and said it was only fat on the meat. I told him how I had been coming into sun shine pizza off and on for 25 years and have watched it steadily decline. He never apologized for the problem or said anything at all really after denying the problems he just stood there and I walked out.

Mediocre! We moved to town a few months ago and were excited to try this place because of reviews. We were VERY disappointed, in the food and in the Yelp reviewers, why are we giving 5 stars?!?! 5 star is like a meal you go home and dream about at night, 5 stars is the best of the best! This place is nowhere near that. FIRST TRY: we ordered the largest pizza (family size about 18'), a house special 'Sunshine Deli' (basically a supreme pizza at other joints). Then as we were ordering my husband looked over and was impressed with the salad bar, so he asked how much. NOW REMEMBER, we just ordered a pizza that was $ 30.65, yes $30 BUCKS FOR JUST ONE PIZZA. So back to the salad bar, the cashier says like $5 for a once through and $7+ for an all you can eat. This is in addition to the $30 pizza! I asked, "don't you have a add a salad price if you spend $30 on a pizza?", well she did not like that line of questioning AT ALL and she let us know it. Her whole demeanor changed. My husband opted for the once through as we also had the pizza. As we are paying she hands him a side plate. NO not a 6 inch plate, a smaller plate, like a saucer (the kind that goes under a tea cup), WHAT THE HECK?!?! He couldn't even fit a $4 dinner salad on the plate, what a rip off. PIZZA was decent, NOT worth a$30+ price tag at all, but like a step above a dominos. (Papa Murphy's take and bake for 1/2 the price is better.) SECOND TRY: we saw that they did delivery so we wanted to take advantage of that service cause it was a bit snowy but when we called they said no deliveries due to snow. OK, we can understand that (although main roads were dry by then). So we place an order for pick up. A burger (no fries as they don't do fries) you get chips, but not any old chips....you get a small pile of broken down cheap, overly salted store bought chips. Not a whole chip in the little pile, all just little broken pieces like the bottom of the bag leftovers, disgusting. The burger was good, nothing to write home about. Nachos, which was good. Nice pile of macho chips topped with fresh ingredients. Guacamole is an extra cost so be prepared to spend $10+. And lastly, The Ruben. Oh my, they should have been ashamed to put it in the box. The bread had been defrosted in the microwave and was then toasted, it was so stale and hard you couldn't bite into it, you couldn't even break it with your fingers. The corned beef had been grilled so long, it resemble beef jerky, bad jerky. There was two strands of sauerkraut (no seriously!) Upon further investigation they were shredded lettuce that must have been left over on the grill so there was NO sauerkraut at all (isn't that what makes it a Ruben?!?) and the cheese had been melted into a quarter size clump in the middle if the jerky. Then the cook actually cut the sandwich (he must have a butcher knife) held the sandwich in his hands and had to have looked it over and decided to place it in a to go box, reached into the empty bag of chips, grabbed out the crumbs in the bottom of the bag, placed that tiny little pile next to the sandwich and gave it to the cashier to give to me in exchange for my 8 dollars. What the heck, when we got home I almost cried because it was uneatable. I had to throw it out and eat a bowl of cereal. GOOD THING: the woman on the phone apologized and offered to make another for us to come get, but really? We just drove 20 minutes there and back, we were not going back out. BAD THING: the cook thought it was acceptable to serve food like that. I don't know if we will go for a third try, I want to like this place so we can support the small town private businesses but they are making it real hard :(

I grew up eating Sunshine Pizza! It is very hard for me to find something that compares as far as pizza goes. It's yummy, they do special orders, you can order anything from a personal pizza to a HUGE challenge pizza for big groups. When I'm in St. Helens, Sunshine Pizza is one of my favorite places to eat lunch or dinner! My favorite is thin crust pepperoni with black olives, or thin crust spicy hawaiian. They have a great salad bar, and their cinnamon bread sticks are really good!

My mom lives about a mile from here and orders delivery from them quite often. She likes them. I, on the other hand am a little harder to please. I like food, good tasting food and have no problem giving my opinions one way or the other. This particular time mother wanted to go into the restaurant to check them out. The restaurant is quite large. Great for kids birthday parties and huge family get together. I checked out the salad bar which I found surprisingly adequate with a variety of offerings. The veggies looked fresh but I wasn't in the mood. I was surprised to see that they had fettuccine. I had been craving that for a few days and just too lazy to drive into to town for Italian. I love me some clam chowder so I ordered a cup of that. Hmmm I had to add salt and pepper, butter and some of the oyster crackers on top. Hmmm sorry to say I couldn't dress it up to make it taste better. I would rate it as fair. I also ordered the fettuccine. Again, had to add salt but over all, just ok. Maybe more garlic would have been nice. I may try it again in case it was just a fluke.

I had a great breakfast at "Sunshine Pizza" in St. Helen's, OR on 8/18/2012. This was my first time there. My friend Russ (from Warren, OR) took me there. They give you a choice of a two egg or three egg omelet and have a great variety of ingredients. The staff was also pleasant and helpful. Despite it's name a very good place to have breakfast.

I must say I haven't tried the pizza yet and since we live some 31/2 hours away now, we will not be able to come here as much as I wish we could. We are heading back one more time before the year is finished so we are going to return to Sunshine Pizza. This was my second time here (9/9/11) and my husband insisted we lunch here. I'm so glad we did although I wasn't wanting anything too heavy in this weather . . . I wanted the clam chowder. What a wonderful surprise ! It was incredible ! Flavorful and Home Made. I've eaten buckets of clam chowder and I am so hard to please: too much potato, too much celery, not enough clams, no clams, too much bacon . . . Sunshine's clam chowder was just right. Very surprising since this is a family pizza place and I'm sorry I can't report on their pizza. Mr. Picky had the endless salad bar and enjoyed it very much. For lighter eaters they also have a 'One Time Thru' for ones who only want to go through the salad line once. It cost a little less. . I appreciate that. Now for the review on the bread sticks: DON'T PAST THEM UP ! They are wonderful! Especially the cinnamon bread sticks. Some people just come for the bread sticks the waitress told us. I don't understand why we didn't buy a dozen of them to have while driving the next several hours home. Were we brain dead or something !!? Not going to let that happen again ! The decor is nothing to write about. It almost looks like a sports bar without any sports crap, I mean, memorabilia... Simple, very clean, tasty food with a VERY pleasant wait staff. It's a pizza place you can go to without having to just eat pizza. Later that night, I dreamt I was a giant cinnamon bread stick !

Can I just say salad bar?! It has so much stuff and you can pile your plate as high or low as you want because you can go back and get more. And their gooey cinnamon bread sticks are so tasty. The pizza isn't as good as Pizza Vendor's pizza in Scappoose though. It's not bad, it's just okay, but the salad bar itself deserves 5 stars. They also have really good sandwiches and pastas like spaghetti, fettucine alfredo, and lasagna. For sandwiches, I recommend the toasted poor boy sandwich with salami and melted cheese and the mustard dressing stuff they give you on the side. Soooo good.

Great salad bar and sandwiches are OK. Absolutely tasteless pizza. Sauce leaves a lot to be desired.
